It’s time for a change and at the General Election we will have the chance to make that happen by voting Labour. I know how hard it is for people struggling with the cost of living crisis. We need a Government that is going to fix this mess and change things for the better. In Central Ayrshire we can help bring that about by electing Alan Gemmell.
One in seven Scots is on an NHS waiting list and every month thousands wait too long in our A&Es. People in Central Ayrshire worry about whether an ambulance will arrive on time. Alan will stand up for our local NHS services
and support Scottish Labour’s plan for an NHS fit for the future.
Alan is a passionate defender of our NHS. In the election this year, people right across Central Ayrshire will have the opportunity to send a message to the SNP about the disastrous way they have been running our NHS and public services into the ground. That’s why I am backing Alan Gemmell to be our next MP and bring about the change we need.
Alan backs Labour’s plans to tackle the cost of living crisis now. Labour will put more money in people’s pockets cutting household bills by up to £1,400 a year.
The SNP at Holyrood and the Tory led council are trashing our public services with eye watering cuts. It’s time for Labour to take over at Westminster.
High Streets across Central Ayrshire are struggling. Labour will level the playing field for local businesses and bring
pride back to our town centres. The choice we face is a Labour MP in a Labour Government fighting for Ayrshire or an SNP MP spending the next five years shouting about
independence.
Labour’s New Deal for Working People will make work pay and will strengthen rights at work for all workers from day
one on the job. We will ban zero hours contracts, end fire and rehire, strengthen Trade Union rights, make work more
family friendly and guarantee a genuine living wage. That’s why I’m voting for Alan Gemmell.
If you elect Alan Gemmell as your MP he will be accountable to all the people of Central Ayrshire and represent every community. He has had a very distinguished career as a diplomat and now he wants to use all his experience to make life better for people here where he was born and grew up.
Scottish Labour will transform our health service with a real NHS Recovery Plan. They have promised a mental
health worker in every GP’s Surgery. They will tackle the backlog, cut red tape and ensure patients can easily
access services locally. That’s why I’m backing Alan Gemmell and Labour at the General Election.
Alan Gemmell will fight hard for this area and his constituents every day. I know he will be a dedicated, hard-working MP and a strong voice for Central Ayrshire at Westminster.
After a decade of Tory failures and SNP broken promises, we have the chance to elect Alan here in Central Ayrshire and help get the Labour Government we desperately need.
“People are looking again at Labour. I was proud to represent the constituency of Central Ayrshire, and Cunninghame South, as its Labour MP from 1992. Alan volunteered in my election campaigns and has the local connections and national experience to fight and win for the hard working people of Central Ayrshire. A win in Central Ayrshire will deliver a Labour Government that will transform the lives of people all over the UK.”
I was born and brought up in Girdle Toll and Irvine. I did my public service overseas and represented the UK around the world. Now I’d like to use that experience to represent in Parliament the community where I grew up.
The country desperately needs a Labour Government. But we can only deliver for people in Central Ayrshire if we have a Labour MP as part of that Government in Westminster.
We launched our campaign on 6 January. Since then our volunteers have been talking to thousands of voters across Central Ayrshire.
Promoted by June Neilson on behalf of Alan Gemmell both at Nelson Mandela Cottages, 17 Townhead, Irvine, KA12 0BL.
