What I’ll do as your next Labour MP
Campaigning with Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin
Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour Government will:
Deliver economic stability with tough spending rules, so we can grow our economy and keep taxes, inflation and mortgages as low as possible.
Cut NHS waiting times by investing in our NHS and funding 160,000 additional appointments every year in Scotland, paid for by cracking down on tax avoidance and non-dom loopholes.
Set up Great British Energy, a publicly-owned clean power company, headquartered in Scotland, to cut bills for good and boost energy security, paid for by a windfall tax on oil and gas giants.
Make work pay, with a New Deal for Working People that will ban exploitative zero-hour contracts, end fire and rehire and deliver a genuine living wage.
Create jobs and opportunities for young people by improving access to apprenticeships, supporting first-time buyers and creating 69,000 Scottish jobs in the clean energy industries of the future.
Maximise Scotland’s influence, using the UK’s global trade networks to promote Scottish businesses, boost exports and attract investment to create jobs.
It is a privilege to be your MP and work for the community where I grew up, with our Labour councillors and MSPs. Together, we will stand-up for hard-working families across Central Ayrshire

I was born and brought up in Girdle Toll and Irvine. I did my public service overseas and represented the UK around the world. Now I’d like to use that experience to represent in Parliament the community where I grew up.
We launched our campaign on 6 January. Since then our volunteers have been talking to thousands of voters across Central Ayrshire.
